The Khumalo and Magonya families say they are devastated and angry after the extradition proceedings linked to the deaths of their three relatives Nothabo, Natalie and Nala were postponed once again.

In a statement released on September 10, 2026, the families said they had hoped this week’s court session would mark the start of the extradition process and speed things up. Instead, they were hit with yet another delay and now face an even longer wait for justice. According to the families, 65 days have passed since they lost their loved ones, a period they described as full of grief, uncertainty and endless waiting.

The families also spoke about the South African court sitting on Tuesday, September 8, calling it an especially painful experience. They said watching the accused in court, seeing what they described as smiles and remarks, and hearing sympathy expressed toward the alleged suspect was hard to bear while they are still mourning.

The statement acknowledged that legal processes must be followed, but said the repeated delays are taking a serious emotional toll. The families said they want the case to proceed fairly, openly and without further unnecessary setbacks as they continue to fight for justice for their daughters.

“For others, this might just be another case or another date in court. For us… This is Nothabo. This is Natalie. This is Nala,” the families said.

They concluded by saying they still hold onto hope that the truth will come out and that justice will be done for their girls.
