Father To Husband: Italian Priest Leaves Church After 12 Years To Marry

An Italian Catholic priest has reportedly left the priesthood after 12 years of service to marry a Kenyan woman in Baringo, in a story that has set social media abuzz.
According to reports, Father Sandro Ferretto was serving in the region when he met Sharon, a local woman. Sources say their connection grew over time and eventually changed the course of his life.
After more than a decade dedicated to the church, the priest is said to have made the difficult decision to step away.
“Father, I can’t pretend anymore!” he is reported to have said before officially resigning from the priesthood.
He later went on to marry Sharon in a traditional ceremony in Baringo. Witnesses at the wedding described the atmosphere as joyful, with the former priest beaming throughout.
“At the wedding, the former priest was smiling like he had just received a direct blessing from heaven,” one attendee told reporters.
The news has sparked mixed reactions online. Some Kenyans congratulated the couple and praised love, while others questioned why he chose to leave after serving for 12 years.
“Love finds you when you least expect it,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “The church will miss him, but we wish them well.”
The Catholic Church has not issued an official statement regarding Father Ferretto’s departure.
For now, the couple is said to be settling down in Baringo as they begin their new life together.
