Scottland fell Caps United to become joint leaders on league table

Four teams now joint top as they share 28 points

Reigning champions Scottland are now second on the league table following an impressive 2-0 victory over Caps United in a thrilling Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 15 encounter played Sunday at the newly refurbished National Sports Stadium.

Two early goals via the boot of veteran forward Knowledge Musona and Man of the Match Panashe Mutimbanyoka proved sufficient to subdue a battling Makepekepe, who now drop to third spot – from number two – on the league table.

There are now four teams who share 28 points and are only separated by goal difference.

Impressive Herentals College are joint leaders but are fourth because of an inferior goal difference after dismissing FC Platinum by 1-0 at Mandava stadium in Zvishavane.

Hardrock continue to sit at the apex of the log standings and could consolidate their lead if the Premier Soccer League rules in their favour on their recent abandoned clash with Dynamos at Chahwanda stadium.

In other matches played same day, Highlanders bounced back to winning ways when they dismissed FC Hunters by 2-1 at Barbourfields stadium.

There was no joy for Tonderai Ndiraya and his men after Chicken Inn suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga stadium in Kariba.

Former champions Simba Bhora drew 1-1 with Triangle United at Wadzanayi stadium in Shamva.

TelOne were in another 1-0 defeat, this time to debutants AGAMA, to complete Sunday’s showdowns.

In Saturday’s fixtures, Dynamos floored stubborn Ngezi Platinum Stars by 2-1 at Rufaro stadium to hand the Mhondoro-Ngezi side their first defeat of the season.

MWOS and Hardrock settled for a nil-all stalemate to complete Saturday’s goal rush.

On Monday, Bulawayo Chiefs host Manica Diamonds at Barbourfields stadium to conclude Match Day 15 round of fixtures.
