Following the tragedy, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s wife visited Mujuru family home to “personally convey my heartfelt condolences”.

She posted on her X handle, “As a mother and grandmother, I am still deeply pained by this unimaginable loss and I continue to stand with Mr Mujuru and the entire family, relatives and friends in this moment of profound grief.

“May the Almighty God continue to grant them strength, comfort and peace, and may our nation unite in prayer and compassion. May the departed dear souls rest in eternal peace.”

The road crash was recorded and shared on social media in its raw form by witnesses in what has been condemned by government has unlawful and callous.

At a post-cabinet media briefing on Tuesday, Information and Publicity Minister Zhemu Soda said the government seriously condemns the acts of taking and sharing graphic images at accident scenes and warned that the law will take its course against wrongdoers.
