Warriors save face after clinching Mukuru Four Nations trophy

By Sports Reporter

The Zimbabwe Warriors were crowned champions of the Mukuru Four Nations Tournament following a 1-0 victory over Zambia in the final clash of the tournament played at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana Tuesday.

An own goal by Chipolopolo two minutes from the final whistle following some great work by substitute Junior Zindoga sealed the fate for the neighbours who had started the encounter on a high.

The trophy was hoisted by captain Marvelous Makamba to save face for a Warriors side that has largely disappointed in their recent FIFA World Cup and AFCON campaigns.

Zimbabwe booked the final after defeating Botswana 3-0 and Zambia coming right against Malawi in semi-finals on Saturday.
