Star forward Khama Billiat’s two beautiful glancing headers proved crucial in guiding champions Scottland to a 3-0 victory over FC Hunters in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer league encounter played at Rufaro stadium Sunday.
The other goal came from the boot of skipper Walter Musona.
Billiat’s brace saw the veteran footballer take the lead in the league’s goalscoring chart after netting his first brace in a Thursday clash against Manica Diamonds.
Meanwhile, Dynamos struck late in the game through Jaison Kasondo – his third goal of the season – to rescue a point against AGAMA at Wadzanayi stadium in a match that ended with the opponents tied on 1-1.
ZPC Kariba made light work of Manica Diamonds, beating them 2-0 at Nyamhunga stadium whilst MWOS dispatched Bulawayo Chiefs 2-1 at Ngoni stadium in Norton.
In matches played on Saturday, log leaders Caps United continued with their rich vein of form when they walloped cash rich Kwekwe side Hardrock 2-0 at Rufaro stadium to make four wins out of four.
The Green Machine, in the process, ended coach Kelvin Kaindu’s 19 match unbeaten record which stretched from last season when he was in charge of Dynamos.
Bulawayo giants Highlanders were restricted to their fourth straight draw yet when they played out a 0-0 draw away to Simba Bhora.
TelOne twice came back from behind to draw 2-2 with former champions FC Platinum at Mandava stadium whilst Chicken Inn were involved in a goalless stalemate with Ngezi Platinum Stars at Barbourfields stadium.
There is a Monday fixture between Herentals College and Triangle at Rufaro stadium.
Following this weekend’s fixtures, Caps sit at the apex of the league table with 12 points from four games whilst Scottland are second with eight points on the strength of a superior goal difference to Dynamos, who lie third.
