Man rapes stepdaughter (12) multiple times
28-year-old offender threatened victim with death, police said

A 28-year-old Harare man allegedly raped his 12-year-old stepdaughter multiple times over a period while threatening to kill her if she revealed the abuse to anyone.
Police spokesperson for Harare province Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed receiving a report of rape against the suspect, who resides in Stopover, Epworth in Harare.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) would like to confirm the repeated sexual abuse of a 12-year-old minor by her step father who was also living with the juvenile’s mother,” said Inspector Chakanza in a statement.
Chakanza said sometime in August this year, the juvenile’s mother went to town, leaving her daughter in the suspect’s custody, who initially requested for a hug from the minor. She refused.
“In the same month during the absence of the minor’s mother, the suspect forcibly fondled her breasts and went on to put his fingers inside her private parts and raped her once without protection,” said Chakanza.
The suspect repeatedly raped her during her mother’s absence, each time threatening to kill the victim against revealing the abuse.
On 29 September 2025, the suspect violated her again.
The abuse came to light when the minor confided in her mother’s sister, who later accompanied her to make a report at Epworth police station on 30 September 2025.
The juvenile was referred to Edith Hospital for medical attention.
Investigations are still in progress.
