Dynamos fail to ease relegation threat after draw with Triangle
By Auther Chimbgwa
Dynamos toughed out a goalless draw with Triangle at Rufaro stadium on Sunday but did just little to ease their relegation worries even after finally moving from 17 to number 16 on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings.
But while this was a point gained for the Glamour Boys, the draw in their Match Day 28 was an anti-climax for a struggling side that has notched up three wins in a row including their astounding 3-2 victory over star-studded Scottland a couple of weeks ago.
Dynamos are tied on 29 points with Yadah, who are fourth from bottom by virtue of a superior goal difference.
In other Match Day 28 clashes played Saturday, log leaders Simba Bhora also played out a goalless draw with closest challengers Scottland to preserve their unbeaten record at their beloved fortress , Wadzanai stadium.
The reigning champions are on 55 points, two more than Scotland as the league race climaxes into the last six games.
Third placed Ngezi Platinum also took advantage of the pacesetters’ draw to move to within six points of Simba Bhora.
At Ascot stadium in Gweru, MWOS also remained in contention of the championship when they beat TelOne 1-0.
At Mandava stadium, FC Platinum beat Highlanders 1-0 while Manica Diamonds also won 2-1 over Green Fuel 2-1 at Sakubva to enhance their survival chances.
Bikita Minerals beat Yadah 1-0 at the Heart stadium while Herentals held Caps United to a goalless draw at Rufaro.
