Dynamos pull off rare hat-trick in fight to escape relegation

Dynamos have now pulled off a rare three victories in a row since Kelvin Kaindu made the bold step to take charge of the relegation haunted Harare side’s dressing room.
On Sunday, Dynamos made their intentions of surviving the dreaded chop very clear after posting a 2-0 victory over Green Fuel in a Castle Lager Premier League Match Day 26 played at Rufaro stadium.
Two early second half goals from a Jairos Kasondo header and a Temptation Chiwunga penalty renewed belief among fans that their beloved club could survive.
The Glamour Boys, who had only tasted victory twice in 23 matches this season, have snatched three victories in a row in the past three fixtures.
They have also won twice in the Chibuku Super Cup round, signalling a return of fortune to the once feared football outfit.
Highlanders, who are not entirely safe from the dreaded chop either, remembered how to win when they beat Bikita Minerals 2-1 to steer clear of the relegation matrix at Gibbo stadium in Triangle.
On the same day, MWOS scored a stoppage time equaliser to snatch a 1-1 draw against Manica Diamonds to keep their faint title hopes alive.
In Saturday’s fixtures, Scottland clobbered Herentals 3-1 at Rufaro stadium in a game in which sensational goal scorer Knowledge Musona netted his first goal in his debut season in the Zimbabwean premiership.
Champions Simba Bhora also walloped Kwekwe United by an identical 3-1 margin at Wadzanai stadium.
Caps United did their relegation worries a world of good when they dispatched FC Platinum 1-0 at Mandava stadium in Zvishavane.
Chicken Inn beat TelOne 2-1 at Ascot stadium while ZPC Kariba also edged Triangle 1-0 at Nyamhunga stadium.
On Friday, Ngezi Platinum snatched a stoppage time winner to clinch a 3-2 victory over Yadah after an early scare in which they trailed the Miracle Boys 2-0 at one stage in the game to remain in the championship conversation.
