17 confirmed dead in Chitungwiza road crash
As 30-tonne haulage truck collides with kombi

Seventeen people died this Tuesday morning following a fierce collision between a 30-tonne haulage truck and a commuter omnibus along the highway linking Harare and Chitungwiza.
The tragedy happened at Hunyani Bridge near Water Works along Seke Road.
The collision happened after the haulage truck reportedly lost its propeller shaft, veered off the road, encroached onto the path of the commuter omnibus carrying passengers.
“The ZRP confirms a road traffic accident which occurred this morning along Chitungwiza Road involving a haulage truck and a kombi,” police said on their X handle.
The police also “urged the media and public to be patient as police officers are currently attending the scene”, while promising to provide further details in due course.
