Engine failure forces plane carrying 300 to land on island
Delta plane passengers stranded for 29 hours in the middle of Atlantic ocean

Nearly 300 people who were flying in a Delta plane suffered a big scare after the jet was forced to divert towards a tiny island in the middle of the Atlantic ocean after developing an engine problem.
Media reports say passengers and crew of the trans-Atlantic flight were stranded for 29 hours in the remote island of Terceira, Azoreson on Sunday.

Flight 127 departed from Madrid, Spain destined for New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport in the US.
An airline statement said the Airbus A330 with 282 customers and 13 crew members on board had “to divert to Lajes, Azores (TER) after indication of a mechanical issue with an engine”.
No injuries were reported among both passengers or crew.
