Security guard raped while on duty
Daring trespasser chased after guard and strangled her, court told

A woman employed as a security guard in Chegutu was both raped and robbed of her cell phone by a man she had confronted for trespassing.
For the crime, a 29-year-old man has been convicted and sentenced to 15 years in jail by the Kadoma Regional Court.
The incident, according to a statement by the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) happened on 3 May this year at around 8am.

“When the victim attempted to confront the offender, he aggressively charged at her, causing her to flee. The offender pursued and apprehended her, dragging her to a secluded corridor,” said NPAZ.
“He then forced her to lie on his jacket, stating his intention to have sexual intercourse.
“The offender proceeded to strangle the victim and threatened to kill her if she resisted or called for help, coercing her into undressing.”
NPAZ said the rapist also took his victim’s Samsung cell phone and put it in his pocket to prevent her from shouting for help.
“The offender then undressed himself and raped the victim,” said NPAZ.
“After the act, he dressed and fled with her cell phone.
“The victim then shouted for help, leading to the offender’s arrest by community members and the recovery of her cell phone.”
