His demands, according to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), prompted the report against him by the person he importuned for the bribe.

Moyo, who was stationed at Tredgold Magistrates’ Court, received the money from Betty House as an inducement to secure a non-custodial sentence for her brother, Bothwell House, who was facing a charge of malicious damage to property.

For the crime, Moyo was convicted and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for bribery, with two years suspended, leaving him to serve 3 years effectively, according to a post by NPAZ on their X handle.

“The NPAZ will not tolerate criminality or bribery within its ranks. Members of the public are encouraged to report all members of the NPAZ or justice delivery system who solicit for a bribe,” NPAZ said.
