Thieves snatch US$46,000 cash from parked car

Four unknown criminals broke into a parked Mazda CX5 vehicle in Kwekwe central business district Thursday and stole US$46,000 cash.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the suspects were travelling in a Toyota Mark X vehicle with registration plates AGI 4348.
A CVR check by the police, however, established that the number plates displayed in the get away car belonged to a blue Mazda Demio.
“The ZRP is investigating a case of theft from a motor vehicle which occurred at a parking bay along E.D. Mnangagwa Road in Kwekwe CBD on 4 June 2025.
“Four unknown suspects travelling in a Toyota Mark X vehicle with registration plates AGI 4348 broke a rear right quarter glass of a parked Mazda CX5 vehicle and stole US$46,000 cash,” police said on their X handle.
