39-year-old grandfather rapes granddaughter, aged 3

A 39-year-old Hwange man raped his three-year-old granddaughter, only stopping the abuse when the toddler cried in pain, a Hwange magistrate heard recently.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the crime was committed on 22 April this year when the victim had been left in his care by her parents who lived nearby.
“The victim was playing with another child and they went to their grandfather’s bedroom.
“Whilst in the bedroom, the offender removed the victim’s clothes before he raped her,” NPAZ said on their X handle.
The abuse came to light when the victim’s mother returned home to find the infant producing urine mixed with blood and some “whitish discharge”. She immediately made a report to the police.
Investigations were promptly instituted which led to the arrest of the offender, who has since been slapped with an effective 20-year jail term.
