A 27-year-old Kadoma woman was arrested and taken to court for allegedly circulating a message via a WhatsApp group urging physical attacks against those who do not join protests against the government.

Between 24 and 28 May 2025, a Kadoma magistrate has heard, Vernah Madhlangove sent messages on a WhatsApp group named, ‘Kadoma Misasa’ encouraging members to stage “an illegal demonstration against the government”.

The message allegedly sent through her grey Tecno (pop 6 go) cell phone, read, “We should assault who ever remains in the house.”

“The messages which were sent by Madhlangove were inciting members of the public to demonstrate against the Government of Zimbabwe on the 29th of May 2025,” the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said on their X handle.

For the offence, Madhlangove was arraigned before the court facing violence incitement charges.

Madhlangove was denied bail and was remanded to 12 June this year.
