Man chops own brother to death over troublesome dogs

A man faces murder after he mercilessly struck his blood brother multiple times on the head with a machete and further amputated the latter’s palm in a violent row over the victim’s dogs.
For the crime, Amos Nduna appeared before a Chipinge magistrates facing murder on Rallion Chiambiro Nduna.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority Zimbabwe (NPAZ), on May 5 this year, “the accused person had a confrontation with the deceased regarding the latter’s dogs, which the accused claimed were causing distress to his family”.
“This led into a dispute between the two brothers. The accused then went to his home and armed himself with a machete and followed the deceased to his field.
“In a violent encounter, the accused struck the deceased multiple times on the head and amputated his left palm, resulting in severe injuries that led to the deceased’s death.”
Amos was arrested two days later at his home.
Police also a blood-stained machete, identified as the murder weapon, from his bedroom, along with the clothes he wore during the attack, which were also blood stained.
NPAZ encouraged members of the public to resolve issues amicably without resorting to violence or to seek third party mediation.
