Two Britons, aged 18 and 20, busted with drugs worth US$670k at RGM airport

Two British citizens , aged 18 and 20, were arrested weekend as they tried to smuggle US669,000 worth of dagga into the country through the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.
According to a statement by the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), Tihaise Darlin Elisha (18) and Taylor Tamara Simone (20), both from Birmingham, United Kingdom, were arraigned before the Mbare Magistrates’ Court for unlawful possession of drugs.
“The state’s allegation is that on the 1st of May 2025 and at around 1300 hours, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics Robert Gabriel International Airport Harare, received information to the effect that there were two foreign nationals bringing drugs into the country aboard an Ethiopian Airways flight.
“The detectives identified the two foreigners as they were taking their bags off the carousel.
“After collecting their four suitcases, they were summoned to the searching bay. All four suitcases were found with varying amounts of dagga. The 124 packets of dagga weigh 66.9 kilograms and have a street value of US$669,000.”
The two were remanded in custody to 6 May 2025.
