Warriors skipper Nakamba, Rinomhota’s teams relegated to English third tier league

Zimbabwe Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba and his compatriot Andy Rinomhota shall next season be playing in the less popular English Football League One after their teams have been relegated to England’s third tier league.
Nakamba’s Luton Town were Saturday beaten 5-3 by West Bromwich Albion to confirm a nightmarish season for a team that was playing in the English Championship.
EFL League One is the second-highest division of the English Football League and the third tier overall in the English football league system, after the Premier League and the EFL Championship and is contested by 24 clubs.
However, Nakamba, the ex-Aston Villa midfielder, an English premiership side, did not appear in Saturday’s team sheet despite recently recovering from a long term hamstring injury.
Luton Town finished 22nd in the 24 team Championship with 49 points and were hoping that the defeat notwithstanding, Postmourth would do them a favour by beating Hull City in a match which ended in a stalemate.
Hull City was also in danger of relegation.
Luton Town was last season relegated from the English Premier League to the Championship, and was expected to keep its spot in the Championship at the very least.
The third division in English soccer does not have a huge following especially in Africa.
Nakamba joins Rinemhota whose team ended at the foot of the Championship, and will be playing in the unfashionable third division as well.
Rinemhota will, however, seek solace from the fact that he was chosen as Cardiff City’s player’s player of the season award despite sinking into the mire this season
