A Bulawayo man was shot by masked men who seized his car and US$3,000 cash as he arrived home while waiting for his gate to be opened.
According to a Tuesday post on the Zimbabwe Republic Police X handle, the 41-year-old was attacked by two unknown suspects who were armed with a pistol and wearing masks.
Police confirmed they were “investigating a robbery case which occurred in Llanda, Bulawayo” on 27 April 2025, at around 6pm.
He was waiting for the gate to be opened, police said.
“The suspects smashed the complainant’s vehicle window and shot him on the right hand and sped off in the complainant’s car which had US$3,000.00 cash, an iPhone, and other valuables.
“The police has since recovered the stolen Mazda CX5, which was dumped on a dust road near Bulawayo-Solusi Road,” police said.
