Man knifes girlfriend for challenging his love advances to another woman

A Banket man allegedly stabbed and injured his girlfriend with a knife before turning the sharp weapon on another man whom he killed instantly.
The incident, according to a post on the police X handle, happened in the small Mashonaland West town on 25 April, 2025.
Police said the suspect was angered by his girlfriend, Asinary Tembo (34) who had confronted him for proposing love to another woman.
The suspect, police said, also stabbed one Jackson Pikisai (30) once on the chest after the latter had tried to restrain him from assaulting Tembo.
“He subsequently died on the spot,” police said.
The suspect now faces murder and attempted murder.
In another incident involving murder, a 41-year-old Nyanga man allegedly killed another man for failing to honour a promise to give him some beer.
Police identified the suspect as Enock Dirorimwe and the deceased as Patrick Nyagwande, who was 61.
“ZRP Nyanga arrested Enoch Dirorimwe (41) for allegedly killing Patrick Nyagwade (61) whom he accused of failing to give him beer as he had promised, ” police said.
Dirorimwe faces murder.
