Dead man’s body found seated, police say

In a bizarre incident, a 54-year-old Chiweshe man’s body was found leaning against a tree after he was allegedly murdered by his nephew.
The ZRP has confirmed the arrest of Takudzwa Chirunga (24) by Chombira police in connection with Mailosi Chirunga’s murder at Makwachimba River, Chiweshe on Friday.
“The suspect allegedly killed his uncle, Mailosi Chirunga,” police said, adding “The victim was found seated, leaning against a tree, with a red cloth covering his nose and mouth, tied to the tree.”
In another incident involving murder, a 38-year-old woman allegedly killed her husband following a domestic dispute.
The suspect, Netsai Matsikira allegedly “fatally struck her husband, Charles Chikukwa (42), several times with a pole following an altercation over allegations of infidelity” in Vengere suburb, Rusape.
Meanwhile, a 38-year-old Nyanga man allegedly struck his co-worker, Jao Antonio Pangurai (23) once on the head with an axe over a cigarette lighter.
The incident, according to police, happened at a farm in Nyapundo Village, Nyanga, on Thursday.
The suspect, Revai Guri is reportedly on the run.
Police have launched an appeal for information which may lead to the arrest of the suspect.
