Man left nursing injured private parts after bashing over debt

A Kwekwe man was left nursing injuries on his privates parts after he was assaulted by a man who accused him of failure to pay an outstanding debt.

The offender was named as Tinomutenda Jubani (26) from Kwekwe.

Prosecutors told the court during trial that on 22 March this year at around 7am at Mbizo in Kwekwe, Jubani visited the victim at his home to demand payment of an outstanding debt.

A quarrel ensued after the victim had told Jubani that he did not have any money yet to repay the debt.

“The offender became angry and physically assaulted the complainant leaving him with visible injuries on his private parts,” said the National Prosecuting Authority in a report on Monday.

Jubani was later sentenced to 18 months in prison of which 6 months were suspended.

The remaining 12 months were suspended on condition that the offender performs 420 hours of community service.
