Highlanders beat Caps United as Dynamos felled by Chicken Inn

Highlanders beat rivals Caps United 1-0 at Barbourfields while fellow giants Dynamos fell to Chicken Inn by a similar margin in two separate Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 6 fixtures played on Sunday.
In the match played at Barbourfields, a strike by Reason Sibanda after just two minutes into the clash was all Highlanders needed to emerge with maximum points.

Elsewhere, MWOS returned to the top of the log standings after dispatching Herentals College in a thrilling match played before a sizable crowd at Wadzanai stadium same afternoon.
The league debutants have punched above their weight since the start of the race with surprise victories.
Their win saw them displace Ngezi Platinum from the top of the log following the former champions’ fall to TelOne with a 2-1 margin at Bata stadium on Saturday.
In another Sunday fixture, ailing giants Dynamos fell to a late strike by Brian Muza to give Chicken Inn a 1-0 victory.
Match Day 6 of the 2025 premiership race started with a goal rush on Saturday in which champions Simba Bhora dispatched Manica Diamonds, posting a surprise 4-1 win while star-studded Scottland were disappointingly held 1-1 by Yadah.
Ngezi Platinum, who now lie second on the log standings, were humbled 2-1 by TelOne while ZPC Kariba had no mercy for premiership newboys Kwekwe United whom they demolished 5-0, the weekend’s biggest victory.
Lukewarm FC Platinum settled for a drab 0-0 stalemate with Green Fuel at Mandava. Bikita Minerals were held 1-1 by bottom placed Triangle United at Sakubva stadium.
Following the weekend’s round of league fixtures, MWOS top the standings with 14 points to their name.
Ngezi Platinum are second on 13 points.
Scottland are third on 11 points. Simba Bhora, positioned fourth, share the same number of points with the moneybags but occupy fourth spot due to their inferior goal difference.
Traditional giants Highlanders, Dynamos and Caps United are positioned 7th, 13th and 17th on 9, 6 and 4 points, respectively.
