Cop struck and killed by car in freak accident

In a freak accident, a junior police officer stationed at Mazowe police station was struck and killed by a car as she walked home with colleagues on Saturday.
Police reported on Sunday that Constable Amanda Katanha, a female police officer, was “walking on the extreme side of the road” with two fellow police officers when she met her fate.
The incident, police said, happened at around 6.40pm at the 17 kilometre peg along Mazowe-Centenary road.

Police described the vehicle involved in the accident as a Toyota Probox with registration plate displaying number AGP8475.
The vehicle had three other people on board.
The now deceased Constable Katanha had knocked off duty from a deployment at Dowkins Farm in Concession.

Police did not give further details regarding the tragedy.
