Drunk police anti-riot officer rapes Grade 7 daughter
Court told 47-year-old fondled minor in one incident

A 47-year-old police officer attached to the ZRP’s anti-riot Support Unit raped his Grade 7 daughter in a shock case of abuse by the peace officer.
A Zvishavane court heard that the police officer forced himself on the minor in the family home while threatening her not to report the abuse.

“The abuse began in August 2024 when the officer, returned home one night drunk, and forced himself on his daughter in their own home,” said the National Prosecuting Authority in a statement.
“He threatened her to not to report the matter. The abuse continued into the new year, with another incident in January 2025 where he fondled her and expressed further desires to have sex with her. This time, the assault was interrupted by the arrival of the girl’s stepmother, but the officer again intimidated his daughter into silence.

“Thankfully, the young girl bravely confided in her friends and a teacher at school, who helped her report the abuse.”
A medical examination confirmed what had happened, leading to the arrest and conviction of her father.
For his misdeeds, the police officer was convicted and sentenced to 21 years in prison by the Zvishavane Magistrates’ Court.
