Unemployed Chipinge man bashes 93-year-old father
Tears down home furniture with a machete

A 54-year-old Chipinge man ran amok, destroying home property with a machete and assaulting his 93-year-old father whom he left with a deep cut on the head.
For his misdeeds, the offender was dragged before a Chipinge magistrate facing domestic violence charges.
The incident, according to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), happened at around 1am on February 23, 2025, at Mwasaya Village, Chipinge.
The court heard that the offender returned home in the dead of night and began shouting at his father and causing commotion.
“He forcibly entered the room, destroyed property with a machete, and struck his father on the head with a metal object, causing a deep cut. The elderly victim was medically examined, and a report was prepared as evidence,” NPA said.
The offender, who is unemployed and resides in the same village, was found guilty and sentenced to 210 hours of community service.
