The Cuban government on Monday handed over artefacts from the Republic of Cuba to the Museum of African Liberation in Harare during a tour of the chancery by a delegation led by the North American country’s national assembly president, Esteban Lazo Hernandez.

During the visit, Hernandez also presented a picture book of late iconic Cuban leader Fidel Castro to the Museum of African Liberation while Kwame Muzavazi, CEO of the Institute of African Knowledge (INSTAK), also presented the Africa Fact Book to the delegation.

Fernando Gonzalez, a hero of the Republic of Cuba highlighted the importance of the museum to Cuba.

“We consider ourselves part of African continent culturally, and this museum will play a pivotal role in preserving the memory of the liberation struggles,” he said.

“We hope that young people will come here, learn from history, and understand the contributions made by all countries fighting for liberation,” said Gonzalez.
