Girl (14) impregnated by own father after multiple rape ordeals
Claims boyfriend responsible for pregnancy

A 14-year-old Harare girl who was raped many times by her own father resulting in her pregnancy accused her boyfriend of causing the pregnancy.
A Harare magistrates’ court was told the rape ordeals took place between April and December last year in Waterfalls suburb, Harare.
The 41-year-old father, according to prosecutors, would lure the minor to a nearby river, “where he proposed a romantic relationship and sexually assaulted her despite her refusal”.
“He threatened to kill her if she disclosed the abuse. The assaults continued multiple times, including during the absence of his wife, who is the victim’s stepmother.
“The matter came to light when the victim revealed her pregnancy to her grandmother, initially claiming it was caused by a boyfriend,” said the National Prosecuting Authority in its news bulletin.
For violating his own minor daughter, the man was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
