Mnangagwa fires provincial affairs minister Munzverengwi

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired Mashonaland East Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Apollonia Munzverengwi and immediately appointed her replacement.
Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday, adding that the sacking of the top official was “with immediate effect”.
“His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde E.D Mnangagwa has, in terms of Section 108 (1a) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, removed Hon. Apollonia Munzverengwi rom the Office of Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mashonaland east with immediate effect,” Rushwaya said.
No reasons were given on the sacking of the Zanu PF official.
Munzverengwi was appointed Provincial Affairs Minister for Mashonaland East in 2018.
In her place, Mnangagwa appointed Hwedza North MP Itayi Ndudzo.
