A 19-year-old Form 4 student at a Masvingo High School faces murder after he allegedly stabbed and killed a fellow student with an okapi knife during a quarrel.
Police confirmed the shock incident on their official X handle on Tuesday.
The murder, police said, happened on 2 February at the school.
“The suspect stabbed another form four student (18) with an okapi knife on the stomach after an argument.
“The suspect had accused the victim of assaulting his young brother. The victim died upon admission at a local clinic in Zimuto,” police said without giving further details.
Cases of fatal clashes among high school students in Zimbabwe are not new.
In 2023, a 16-year-old schoolboy from Founders High School in Bulawayo was stabbed to death after confronting two other pupils from a neighbouring school for bullying his friend.
