Drunk snake catcher dies after being bitten by puff adder
Chinhoyi man dropped guard while playing around with deadly reptile

A Chinhoyi man who toyed with a puff adder in front of amazed neighbours who captured the stunt on phone video, died after he was later bitten on the leg by the snake.
Show Chedu, known to the community for his abilities to subdue dangerous snakes, was unlucky this time around when he clutched the dreaded reptile while drunk.
Video images recorded before the incident show a drunk Chedu clutching the snake just behind the head with one of his hands and uses his free hand to roll the length of the venomous reptile’s body around his hand while caressing it.
Neighbours say Chedu later dropped his guard leading to the snake bite.
Chedu was taken to Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital on Thursday last week but later succumbed to the venom.
According to neighbours, Chedu had caught the snake near his fowl run at Alaska Dolomite near Chinhoyi caves before he joyfully paraded it.
Because of his dexterity in catching snakes, neighbours, it is said, would often turn to him whenever a snake is seen around their vicinity.
The puffer adder is ranked number seven on the world’s deadliest snakes by Discover Wildlife.
