Rape victim dies after being forced to take pesticide by suspect

A Chinhoyi woman died on Saturday after she was forced to take some pesticide by a man who had just raped her.

Police confirmed the sad incident, indicating they were looking for the suspect, named Tafadzwa Nkonde, aged 33.

The murder, according to police, happened at Muvhami Village, Makonde on 31 August 2024.

“The suspect allegedly raped a woman (37) before forcing her to consume a tobacco pesticide which was in her handbag.

“The victim died on 2 September 2024 whilst admitted at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital.”

Police appealed to “anyone with information to report at any nearest police station”.
