Veteran journalist, editor Simba Rushwaya dies

Veteran journalist and sports editor Simba Rushwaya has died. He was 49.

Rushwaya died at Parirenyatwa Hospital on Tuesday.

He was reportedly battling colon cancer.

A well-disposed individual, Rushwaya worked for The Herald, Alpha Media Holdings, Daily News, Manica Post and other media houses.

Media colleagues on Wednesday expressed their sorrow over the loss of the former Newsday sports editor.

“My good friend Simba Rushwaya is nomore. Succumbed to cancer. What a devastating loss. My guy you tried to fight this evil disease. You are a fighter. You will be sadly missed. Go well brother,” former Daily News editor Stanley Gama posted on X.
