Unverified details say the soldier who shot and killed three people before turning the gun on himself in Mount Darwin Friday night had taken the lethal weapon to a bar where he indulged in his favourite brew with the gun on the counter.
He was reportedly drunk at the time.
Police on Saturday confirmed the murder of three people in Mount Darwin but were yet to give full details of the shock incident.
However, a social media narration by witnesses suggest the unnamed serviceman left his girlfriend at home and went to a drinking spot where he took alcohol with his gun on the counter.
A patron whose images are also circulating on social media advised the killer soldier against the act and in a fit of rage, the soldier is said to have opened fire at him, killing him instantly.
Two other individuals linked to the security forces, one named Casper and another named Munemo, tried to disarm him but he also shot and killed them.
The killer soldier then went back to his girlfriend at home where he also shot and killed her before turning the gun on himself.
