War veterans ministry boss dies in car crash
Airlifted from crash scene to Harare but succumbs to injuries

Permanent secretary in the war veterans ministry Clive Mphambela died from injuries sustained in a car accident in Chivhu on Thursday.
Mphambela, a former finance ministry’s chief director of communications had been airlifted from the crash site to a hospital in Harare but succumbed to the injuries.
His death was confirmed by the finance ministry in a statement on Saturday.
“The Min of Finance, Economic Dev and Investment Promotion Honourable Professor M. Ncube, Deputy Minister Honourable D. K. Mnangagwa and the entire ministry staff are deeply saddened by the loss of Mr C. Mphambela, a former Chief Director in the Communications and Advocacy department,” the ministry said.
Mphambela was promoted to the position of permanent secretary for the war veterans ministry after his tour of duty in the finance ministry.
Added the ministry, “As we cherish memories of our time working together, our hearts go out to the bereaved family during this difficult time.”
