Man fined for grabbing church-goer’s butt
Lustful offender apprehended after victim screamed for help

A 20-year-old Nyanga man’s unchecked lust got him into trouble after he was taken to court and convicted for grabbing a 35-year-old woman’s bottoms as she walked to church last month.
The incident, acceding to a statement by the national Prosecuting Authority (NPA), happened on 21 June this year.
The unnamed offender was arraigned before a Nyanga magistrate who later convicted him for indecent assault.
Said NPA, “On the 21st of June 2024 at around 6pm, the complainant (35) was on her way to church when she met the accused person who was walking in the opposite direction.
“The accused person grabbed the complainant ‘s backside. She screamed for help and the accused person was apprehended by a passerby.”
For his misdeeds, the offender was sentenced to pay a fine of US$120 or 30 days imprisonment in default of payment.
