Women stabs husband to death, bites his ex-wife

A 25-year-old Mwenezi woman who could not stand the sight of her husband in the company of his ex-wife took her anger to extremes by stabbing the 40-year-old to death before turning on the woman whom she also bit on her cheek.

Police confirmed the incident, adding that the suspect Daisy Ivy Makanaka has been arrested “in connection with a case of murder which occurred on 10 July 2024 at Masvosva Village”.

“The suspect struck her husband, Talent Golden Masuku (40) with a log on the head and stabbed him with a kitchen knife on the back after finding him in the company of his ex-wife, Shingirai Mativenga (44).

“The victim died on the spot. The suspect also struck Shingirai Mativenga on the head with a log and bit her on the cheek,” police said.

The shock incident comes just days after a 40-year-old Chegutu man brutally struck his ex-wife with an axe on the neck, shoulder and on the head in a bush near Maldon Compound, Chikari, Chegutu before taking his own life through consuming suspected cyanide.

The incident happened on Friday last week.

The suspect was named as Watson Musika and his victim as Shiellah Utete, who was aged 32.
