Jub Jub now free as rape charges dropped
By Showbiz Reporter
Popular South African rapper and TV presenter Molemo Maarohanye, better known as Jub Jub, walked free on Thursday when prosecutors withdrew rape, attempted murder and assault charges against him.
In a letter, acting deputy director of public prosecution in Johannesburg TJ Mbodi, said there were “no reasonable prospects of a successful prosecution”.
Jub Jub had been accused of rape by his ex-girlfriend, TV personality and businesswoman Amanda du-Pont.
She alleged Jub Jub raped her multiple times for two years while they were together.
His alleged offences were committed during 2006 and 2009.
