Burglar killed after breaking into house to commit rape
Log, sjambok used to attack intruder, police say

For breaking into a house and attempting rape on a female occupant, a 23-year-old Magunje man paid with his own life after he was assaulted to death by the husband of the victim and a relative.
Sammer Panashe Kaimbanemoyo, police said Tuesday, was struck with logs and a sjambok by the two, who are now on the run.

“Police in Magunje are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Nomore Chikandiwa (32) and Solomon Chikandiwa (35) who are being sought in connection with a case of murder which occurred on 1 July 2024 at around 12:30 am at Chinovhiringa Village.
“The suspects took turns to assault the victim, Sammer Panashe Kaimbanemoyo (23) with wooden logs and sjambok after the victim allegedly broke into Nomore Chikandiwa house and attempted to rape his wife. The victim died on the spot. The suspects are on the run,” police wrote on their official X handle.
