Suspected forex dealer ordered to pay US$1 000 bail

Suspected foreign currency dealer Neville Mutsvangwa and accomplices have finally been freed by the High Court on US$1 000 bail after enduring a nightmarish three weeks in remand prison.    

The 44-year-old son to Women’s Affairs minister Monica Mutsvangwa and Zanu PF spokesperson Chris Mutsvangwa was granted bail together with accomplices Elias Majachani (45), and Simbarashe Tichingana (38).

They were ordered to each deposit US$1 000 with the Clerk of Court, not to interfere with witnesses, reside at the given addresses and to surrender travelling documents.

The three are facing a count of dealing in foreign currency, one count of contravening the Bank Use Promotion and Suppression of Money Laundering Act and another count of contravening the Money Laundering and Proceeds of Crime Act.
