Khama Billiat scores for Yadah to break goal jinx

First goal lifts pressure from Zimbabwe premiership sensation’s shoulders

Highly rated former Warriors star and priced Yadah pre-season acquisition Khama Billiat finally scored his first goal since returning to the Zimbabwe football premiership this season.

in a Castle Lager Match Day 8 clash played at Baobab, Billiat struck for the Miracle Boys after 65 minutes to help Yadah to a share of the spoils with defending champions Ngezi Platinum and also break his own goal scoring jinx since rejoining the Zimbabwe premiership early this year.

Meanwhile, Chicken Inn continued on their winning streak when they beat Hwange 1-0 at Luveve in another Match Day 8 clash played Wednesday.

The Gamecocks took their points tally to 15 and are now level with Highlanders who still top the league standings by virtue of a superior goal difference.

In another match, Highlanders’ defensive frailties were exposed once again when they blew a 2-0 first half lead to allow hosts Herentals draw level and end the clash with in a 2-2 draw.

At Mandava stadium, FC Platinum were beaten 1-0 by ZPC Kariba while Bikita Minerals beat Simba Bhora with the same scoreline.

Following Wednesday’s fixtures, Highlanders maintain top spot on 15 points but have the advantage of a superior goal difference over Chicken Inn who also have the same number of points with 8 games played.

Simba Bhora are third on 13 while FC Platinum, still with a game in hand, are fourth on 12.

Traditional giants Dynamos are number 9 on 9 points but have a game in hand.

Caps United, with two games in hand, are a distant 15th on 7 points.

Defending champions Ngezi Platinum positioned number 13 on 8 points.

Match Day 8 continues this Thursday with Dynamos travelling to Baobab for a date with Chegutu Pirates.

Caps United host Green Fuel at Rufaro with the clash between Arenel Movers and Manica Diamonds putting the lid on the mid-week fixtures.
