A Harare man who hired a sex worker shall regret the day he let lust get the better of him after he was robbed of a laptop and some cash by the women and her accomplices.
A Harare magistrates’ court heard that Tinashe Gabilo, a resident of Msasa Park, met 22-year-old Samantha Moyo at the intersection of Nelson Mandela and 5th Street in Harare around 8PM on 27 March this year.
The two agreed to head for the infamous Gail Court, a flat in Harare’s Avenues area common for commercial sex work.
Gabilo was ushered into room number 31, the court heard.
The two reportedly spent the night together but terms later changed when Moyo allegedly demanded US$50 for her services instead of the US$10 initially agreed, according to state prosecutor Miriro Matavo.
Moyo allegedly took possession of Gabilo’s laptop and cell phone until her demands were met.
Subsequently, Tafadzwa Bandare (33) and an unidentified accomplice stormed the room, forcibly taking Gabilo’s belongings, including his wallet containing US$50.
Gabilo reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of Moyo and Bandare the following day.
Harare magistrate Simon Kandiyero remanded them out of custody until May 2.
