ZRP fumes over uniform protest claims by junior officers

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has moved to dispel claims by some junior police officers they were being marshalled to this year’s Independence Day celebration parades with no uniforms.
In a statement, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi accused some junior members of the force of abusing social media to push malicious agendas against the ZRP.
Nyathi was responding reports by some junior police officers that they are being forced to attend this year’s Independence Day celebration inspection parades while wearing clothes that did not match in protest over the worsening shortage of uniforms within the force.
