Zemura ‘quits’ Warriors, claims Mapeza bias against Europe based stars

Italy based Zimbabwe Warriors star Jordan Zemura says he is quitting the Zimbabwe national football team in protest over the ill-treatment being subjected to the squad by coach Norman Mapeza coupled with alleged bias against Europe based contingent.

In interviews with local media, a source close to Zemura accused Mapeza of unprofessionalism and subjecting his players to “military style” training ahead of international fixtures.

Zemura, who plays for Udinese in Italy, featured in only one game at the Four Nations Tournament in Malawi in which Zimbabwe was beaten in the final by Kenya.

Mapeza is accused of attempts to frustrate the Europe based players.
