Mob kills Harare man caught stealing maize cobs

A 49-year-old man was beaten to death by a mob on Friday after he was allegedly caught stealing some maize cobs from a field in Harare’s Rugare high density suburb.
Police have confirmed the incident, saying one suspect, Gift Kamuripa has since been arrested over the incident.
“Police in Harare are investigating a case of murder which occurred on 5 April 2024 at an open space in Rugare.
“A mob attacked a yet to be identified man after he was found by Gift Kamuripa (49) stealing some maize cobs in his field,” police said via their official social media handle.
Meanwhile, police in Gwanda are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of murder in which Khaulani Ndlovu (32) was found dead with multiple stab wounds all over the body along a dust road between Mornef and Bina mine area on 6 April 2024.
