Two Beitbridge men believed to be homosexuals were arrested at a nightclub in Beitbridge weekend when they were caught by the amusement joint’s security kissing and caressing in a toilet with one of the partners’ manhood exposed.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the two were caught in a compromising position at Nkonka Night Club in the border town Beitbridge.
“Ayanda Nkomo (26) and Will Jaricha (28) were arraigned before the Beitbridge Magistrates’ Court facing sodomy charges,” said NPA in a statement.
“On the 31st of March 2024 the accused persons were drinking beer together at Konka Night Club in Beitbridge. At around 2340 hours they left the night club and went to a nearby toilet whilst hugging each other.
“Two of the night club security personnel who noticed the accused persons walking to the toilet became suspicious and followed them.
“Upon opening the door of the toilet the security personnel found the accused persons caressing each other around the waist and kissing each other on the mouth whilst the first accused person had his erect manhood exposed.
“The first accused person tried to flee the scene but he was apprehended and the matter was reported to the Police leading to the accused persons’ arrest.
“The accused persons were convicted and sentenced to a fine of USD150 each or face 120 days imprisonment in default of payment.”
