‘ED Huchi’ rapist offered car, cash by Wicknell Chivayo

Extravagant businessman and Zanu PF benefactor Wicknell Chivayo has offered to buy a car and also hand some cash to former jailbird Bobby Makaza who became known to the public through fawning chants in praise of President Emmerson Mnangagwa when he got pardoned from imprisonment last year.
Chivayo has been parcelling out expensive vehicles to musicians and other Zanu PF praise singers.
He has expressly stated he is rewarding them for their public loyalty to the Zimbabwe incumbent.
Makaza earned the infamous tag of being a celebrity rapist when he chanted and popularised the phrase, “ED huchi murume uyu”, loosely translated, “ED (Mnangagwa) is sweet” when he was ferried in a Zimbabwe Prisons bus while leaving Chikurubi Maximum Prison after benefitting from a presidential amnesty.
Seeing an opportunity to benefit from Chivayo’s boundless largess, Makaza recently recorded a video on social media pleading with the businessman to also turn his way.
“Ndini Bobby Makaza ndakataura kuti Mnangagwa huchi zvikaita kuti musangano usimbe zvakanyanya, asi ndokumbirawo vaChivayo kuti vandibatsirewo semumwe wawo ndakasupporter musangano zvinozikanwa nepasi rese saka ndikukumbirawo dai mandibatsira mandionawo vaChivayo.
“Saka naizvozvo ndoti dai mandibatsirawo musangano ugone kundibatsirawo sezvo ndainge ndiri mumwe munhuwo aka supporter team zvakanaka, musangano wedu wakabva wasimba,” said Makaza.
Chivayo’s response was in the affirmative.
“Shoko rasvika kwandiri Baba vangu VA Bobby Makaza asi hamuna kuzotaura kuti ndino kuwanai kupi kana phone number dzenyu… Chokwadi huso hwenyu ndahu cherechedza uye matumira video makapfeka zvichena saka ndakurumidza kuwana rudo nemi sezvo ini ndiri Madzibaba…Muno kodzero yekuti ndukupei mari inoita iyo 10 thousand United States dollars uri musvo kana kuti Motokari ye rudzi rwe Toyota Aqua ne 2000 dollars cash pamusoro. Makaza was sentenced to 16 years in prison by a Murewa magistrate in 2019 after raping a 10-year-old girl a year earlier.
He, however, served less than five years of the sentence after he was released together with more than 4 200 other prisoners following a clemency order signed by Mnangagwa on May 19 last year.
This is not the first time of the convicted rapist receiving a gift from Chivayo months back he was rewarded with a house and substantial amount of cash during a presidential rally in Mutawatawa, Mashonaland East province.
The slogan, “ED Huchi”, gained traction as it was the one expensively used during Zanu PF rallies.
