36 goats, 11 sheep stolen in Mvurwi farm robbery
By Staff Reporter
Half a dozen suspects armed with sticks pounced on a Mvurwi farm and seized 36 goats and 11 sheep in a bizarre robbery incident that happened before midnight on Tuesday.
Police confirmed the incident and further put up an appeal from the public for information that could aid their efforts to track down and bring the suspects to book.
“Police in Mvurwi are investigating case of robbery which occurred at Tsapato Farm on 05 March 2024 at around 11.30PM in which six male suspects who were armed with sticks, attacked three farm workers before stealing 36 goats and 11 sheep.
“The suspects loaded the loot in an unregistered white Mitsubishi motor vehicle and drove off.
“Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station.”
While cases of stock theft and robberies are common in Zimbabwe, it is however rare to find suspects seize livestock from the custody of their minders.
