Slain Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activist Moreblessing Ali is finally set for burial this Saturday, nearly two years after her gruesome murder by Zanu PF activist Pius Jamba in Nyatsime May 2022.
This was announced on Monday by family lawyer and opposition politician Job Sikhala.

“I announce the burial of our heroine Moreblessing Ali on Saturday the 2nd of March 2024 at Zororo Cemetery at 12:30pm. All friends, relatives & colleagues are invited to this memorable event. We are bringing closure to this sad chapter in our country,” Sikhala posted on his X.
Jamba was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment December last year after being found guilty of Ali’s cold-blooded murder which sparked political tensions in the Nyatsime community.
Sikhala was arrested and incarcerated for nearly 600 continuous days under pre-trial detention for whipping up tensions which led to fierce clashes by Zanu PF and CCC followers during Ali’s memorial.
Ali’s family vowed it shall not bury the activist for as long as Sikhala remained in prison.
Sikhala was set free on January 30, 2024 after he was convicted and later handed a wholly suspended two-year jail sentence by a Harare magistrate.
